<p>The present invention is a pharmaceutically acceptable formulation of succinyl acetone, or at least one of its pharmaceutically active analogues. The formulation can include at least one base selected from the group consisting essentially of sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, arginine, lysine, or glutamine, to produce a pH between 3.0 and 8.0. Also, a different formulation can include solubilizer selected from the group consisting essentially of: ethanol; co-solvents, such as polyethylene glycol or propylene glycol; non-ionic surfactants selected from the group consisting essentially of polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid esters, polyethylene glycol esters, polyethylene fatty acid esters, block copolymers of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, ethylated fatty alcohol ethers, and octylphenoxy polyethyoxy ethanol compounds. Further, an alternative formulation can comprise a covalent conjugation between the succinyl acetone, or analogue thereof, and a polymer selected from the group consisting essentially of polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, polyoxyethylene polyol, or polyproline.</p> |
