<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a heat generating composition which can generate heat on a high level for a long time and is highly safe and easy to handle by compounding metallic or alloy powder, a persulfate, and a calcium or magnesium compound together. CONSTITUTION:A heat generating composition comprising metallic and/or alloy powder, a persulfate, and a calcium and/or magnesium compound. The metallic powder may be any of iron, aluminum, nickel, copper and other powders, among which iron powder is most excellent in all of economy, safety and heat generation characteristics. Besides the metallic powder such as pure iron powder, alloy powders such as cast iron powder and iron/aluminum alloy powder are similarly usable because they have similar effects. In general the particle diameter of the metallic or alloy powder is preferably very small and usually such that the powder can pass through a 60-mesh sieve.</p> |
