PURPOSE:To ensure the safe and sure transfer of an automatic traveling vehicle via an elevator by securing such a constitution where a transfer mechanism functions to eliminate a gap produced between the floor surface of a building and that of the elevator in response to the position of the vehicle and an open state of the elevator. CONSTITUTION:An automatic traveling vehicle receives an instruction for its destination from a remote controller at the front of an elevator 2 and decides an UP or DOWN transfer. Then the vehicle 4 operates an elevator switch 22 of a transfer plate 21 via a switch operating mechanism 40. When the elevator 2 stops at a floor where the vehicle 4 is kept waiting, a transfer mechanism 20 works to move down the plate 21 to cover the gap produced between a floor surface 10 and the elevator 2. Thus the vehicle 4 moves into the elevator 2 and stops at a stop mark. Then the mechanism 40 operates a destination switch 11 and the plate 21 is pulled up. The door of the elevator 2 is closed and the elevator 2 moves to a target floor. In such a constitution, the vehicle 4 can be safely and surely transferred via the elevator 2. |
