<p>Presence of hydride gases, eso. highly toxic gases such as arsine or phosphine, is colorimetrically determined by colour change, e.g., from yellow/orange to grey of an impregnated carrier. The carrier (2), esp. a paper disc or silica gel and clamped by a peripheral ring (3) on a base support (1) is impregnated with glycol such as tetraethylene glycol and palladium (II) chloride soln.. Alternatively the chloride is reacted with NH3 to form a soln. of palladium tetramine chloride.</p> |
