The equipment encloses a set or regularly-bent plates forming prismatic openings between them filled with earth for plant growing. It comprises pairs of strips (6) passed at intervals through apertures in the plates and with means outside the plate packet for holding it together (17). The strips can slide along each other at one or more points (9) and are lockable together, typically in a close-fitting bush. The strips can be of rectangular cross-section.
