PURPOSE:To efficiently clean an optical disk to a necessary minimum and to prevent the lowering of reliability by detecting the deterioration of a reproducing signal which is caused by an adhering substance at the time of making the optical disk access and specifying the position on which the adhering substance is made to adhere. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a reproducing signal deterioration detecting part 1 for detecting the deterioration of the reproducing signal caused by the adhering sub stance at the access time, an access position detecting part 5 for detecting the access position and 1st deciding parts 2 and 3 for deciding whether or not the deterioration is in a normal state based on the signal from the reproducing signal deterioration detecting part 1. And the device is provided with 2nd deciding parts 6 and 7 for deciding whether or not the repro ducing signal is deteriorated at the specified access position based on the signal from the reproducing signal deterioration detecting part 1 and the signal from the access position detecting part 5, and an alarm display part 4 for performing an alarm display. And in the case that the deterioration is in the normal state, it is decided that the adhering substance is made to adhere on an optical system, and then, the part on which the adhering substance is made to adhere is cleaned. But the, in the case that the adhesion of the adhering substance occurs on a specified access position, only the part of the optical disk is cleaned. Thus, the efficiency of working can be enhanced and also the lowering of the reliability can be prevented. |
