PURPOSE:To obtain a heat insulating lining material, usable at high temperature exceeding 1800 deg.C and resistance to thermal spalling properties by providing a skin layer, composed of zirconia fiber and zirconia powder and having a specific bulk specific gravity and forming the interior into a hollow shape. CONSTITUTION:A lining material, composed of zirconia fiber and zirconia powder and having a skin layer with 2.5-5.0 bulk specific gravity thereof and hollow interior thereof. Zirconia fiber stabilized with various stabilizers is used as the zirconia fiber in addition to pure zirconia fiber. Among them, yttria- stabilized zirconia fiber is preferably used. The fiber length and diameter thereof are respectively within the range of, e.g. 0.1-50mm and 0.1-2.0mu. The zirconia powder is composed of zirconium oxide having a chemical formula ZrO2 and the particle size thereof used is normally within the range of 0.1-1000mu. |
