PURPOSE:To obtain a dielectric porcelain excellent in low temperature calcinability, stability in production and reliability as a capacitor by finely dividing particle diameter of a raw material, barium titanate, reducing the amount of added lithium fluoride and simultaneously adding other specific additives thereto. CONSTITUTION:A barium compound is added to barium titanate powder having <=0.5mum average particle diameter as a raw material so as to provide a ratio of Ti to Ba as follows, 0.950<=Ti/Ba<=0.999. To the resultant mixture, is added 0.05-0.48wt.% lithium fluoride(LiF) and to the obtained mixture, is further added at least one of magnesium stannate(MgSnO3) and cerium dioxide(CeO2) in respective amounts within the range of 0.1-5.0wt.%, silicon(Si) in an amount within the range of <=0.5wt.% (provided that 0 is not included) expressed in terms of silicon dioxide(SiO2) and manganese(Mn) in an amount within the range of <=1.0wt.% (provided that 0 is not included) expressed in terms of manganese dioxide(MnO2). The prepared mixture is then calcined at a temperature within the range of 900-1200 deg.C to regulate the amount of water-soluble components in a porcelain to <=0.05wt.% (provided that 0 is not included). |
