PURPOSE:To produce a stailness steel sheet of superior workability with less stages and less energy processes by heat insulating or heating a continuously cast slab of a stainless steel of a specific amt. of Cr directly under specific conditions without cooling and hot rolling the same. CONSTITUTION:After ferritic stainles steel contg. 10-20wt% Cr is cast continuously, it is directly hot-rolled or it is heat-insulated or heated without reducing temp. down to <=400 deg.C and is hot-rolled. At this time, the time when the continuously cast slab is put in an (alpha+gamma) region is kept within 3hr. Here, the amt. of Cr is affected by the amts. of C and N, and is within the range where the (alpha+gamma) region appears at high temp. If the slab is cooled to <=400 deg.C in the stage of heat insulation or hot rolling after the heating, the effect of energy economization is decreased. In either process, if the time heated to the (alpha+gamma) region exceeds 3hr, there are no specific characteristics in terms of material quality despite the changing of the hot coil annealing conditions and the advantages of energy economization is decreased. The time for the hot coil annealing is reduced or omitted. |
