The bait for moles according to the invention is produced in a form adapted to its introduction into tunnels by mechanical means of the pincer type and comprises in combination, inseparably, an appetizing element intended to attract the animal, a poison and an element providing cohesion. The manufacturing process for producing 1 kilogram of this bait consists in: - cooking for a period of 30 minutes at boiling temperature a mixture of 190 grams of meat meal, 250 grams of animal fat and 535 grams of paraffin so as to produce the decoction, - filtering the liquid obtained with removal of the meat meal, - heating the filtrate below the boiling temperature, - supplying 100 grams of alpha-chloralose previously mixed with 100 grams of a solvent of the triethanolamine type and with 2 grams of a red colouring, - heating the components as a whole for 10 minutes at a temperature below the boiling temperature, - cooling the liquid bait in a suitable container so as to obtain a solid bait having the desired sizes and shape. <IMAGE>
