An energy absorber which can be re-used repeatedly and has an almost ideal quality factor consists of a thrust plate with pin (1) and a bush (2) which are displaced relative to each other by the application of an axial force and absorb the impact energy by friction. Both components are pref. made of ULTRAMIDB3WG7 (RTM). The quality factor is raised still more if quartz powder is strewn over the rubbing surface. ADVANTAGE - This absorber has a high quality factor and can be re-positioned by using a press or an extractor.
