PURPOSE:To prevent the accuracy of reproducing time at a reception terminal from decreasing by providing a means which transmits and receives information for compensating time deviation due to transmission line length and compensating the received time information based on the information. CONSTITUTION:On the side of the transmitter 1, a packet wherein time and a compensation quantity are specified is generated by a packet generating circuit 23 with the output of a time information generating circuit 21 and the output of an area compensating and encoding circuit 22 and the packet is sent out. On the side of the receiver 6, a time information packet separating circuit 26 extracts only the time information packet based on the output of a data channel separating circuit 25 which extracts only a data part from a bit stream, and the extracted packet is decomposed into the time information and area compensation quantity, which are inputted to a time information arithmetic circuit 28 and an area compensation quantity arithmetic circuit 27. A time information reproducing circuit 29 reproduces the time information based on the outputs of those circuits and outputs the information. |
