PURPOSE:To always hold the inlet temperature of an expansion turbine at a satisfactory value and to sufficiently perform the function of the turbine by feeding material air directly to the turbine, or feeding gas guided from the intermediate part of a main heat exchanger directly to a fractionating tower system without going through the turbine. CONSTITUTION:Material air guided into a cold insulation box B is fed to a fractionating tower system 14 through a main heat exchanger 10, output as product gas, partly fed to an expansion turbine 20, and sent to the system 14 as low temperature. A temperature sensor 26 detects the variation in the inlet temperature Tt of the turbine. If the temperature Tt becomes lower than a predetermined value SV a first flow rate regulating valve 30 of a controller 28 is opened to guide the air directly to the turbine 20 through a bypass passage 241. If the temperature Tt is raised higher than the value SV a second flow rate regulating valve 242 is opened, gas guided from the intermediate part of the exchanger 10 is guided directly to the system 14 through a second bypass passage 222 to hold the temperature Tt at a suitable value while holding the flow rate of the turbine constant.
