<p>PURPOSE:To provide an ink jet recording fluid excellent in the light resistance and water resistance of a recorded image, the storage stability, etc., by using an aqueous medium, a dispersant comprising a styrene/maleic acid copolymer, and a specified pigment as the constituents. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet recording fluid is prepare by mixing an aqueous medium (A) (e.g. a mixture of water and polyethylene glycol), a dispersant (B) comprising a styrene/maleic acid copolymer, and a pigment (C) of formula I (wherein R is H, methyl or halogen) (e.g. a compound of formula II or III). The suitable proportions are such that component C accounts for about 0.5-8wt.% of the total weight of the recording fluid, the amount of component B is about 30-100wt.% based on the weight of component C, and component A accounts for the balance of the recording fluid. In addition, the incorporation of about 0.5-20wt.% surface active agent into the recording fluid can improve the fast drying properties after printing, the quality of print, etc.</p> |
