PURPOSE:To obtain method suitable for industrial use by obtaining a linear regression formula between ash content and reduction ratio of Klason lignin and estimating the reduction ratio through measurement of ash content in a test specimen. CONSTITUTION:Solid fermentation of wood raw material by Basidiomycetes to rot wood containing Ascomycetes, etc., is carried out to obtain a linear regression formula between ash content and reduction ratio of Klason lignin. Then ash content in a test specimen of solid fermentation of wood powder to be subjected to decomposition and/or depolymerization of lignin with Basidiomycetes is measured by a well-known method wherein a test specimen is heated to a high temperature and then weight of the residue is measured and reduction ratio of Klason lignin is estimated based on the formula. Then the reduction ratio can be estimated simply, in high accuracy and extremely efficiently. Consequently, the reduction ratio can be estimated in a short time. Progress state of fermentation can be known. Furthermore, operation of this method is extremely simple, the method is excellent as an industrial measurement and plays an important role. |
