摘要 PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composite material which comprises a sheath and a core comprising continuous fibers, a powdery material and a specific filler, in which the existing elements are not bound to each other, and which is optimal for a use purpose by changing the ratio of the components. CONSTITUTION: This composite material is obtained by opening the roving of continuous fibers such as glass continuous fibers or metal continuous fibers, coating the opened continuous fibers with thermoplastic polymer powder having a particle diameter of 10-60μm or the like, mixing the coated continuous fibers with, for example, an organic or inorganic, insulating or magnetic, solid or hollow filler having a particle diameter of 0.2-100μm (preferably hollow silica balls), and then covering the mixture with the sheath of a thermoplastic polymer. The filler preferably has a higher melting point than the maximum melting point of the other components of the composite material, and the volume ratio of the filler to the powdery material in the mixture is preferably 90-10%. The weight ratio of the sheath to the other composite material is preferably 5-70%.
