Straight bar knitting frame - has yarn carrier assembly to attain higher speeds

On a straight bar knitting frame which has reciprocating yarn carriers driven from a cam shaft and draw levers, each yarn carrier is asembled as a slotted flat plate, with clips holding it to a runner along each section of a V channel rail. Pref. the draw levers are attached to the yarn carrier at each end, and across the length of the frame to the cam drive. The plate has slots to enable the clips to enter, and are then clipped into the slot at each end. The traverse plates run in a V channel rail across the knitting section of the frame. The plate is angled to hold an eyelet, and a guide plate is affixed to enable the yarn to be carried down the needles. Multiple rails may be clipped together at the ends, and have several colours or types of yarn, in which case the guide plates are suitably angled to the same position above the knitting head. ADVANTAGE - The assembly is quick and easily replaced. The power requirement is reduced, and higher speeds are obtainable.
