PURPOSE: Not to mix blood with air excessively by making an open-type reservoir incorporating both advantages of a hard outer skin and a soft outer skin. CONSTITUTION: In a reservoir 44 for vein, a soft bag 60 is fixed to a bag supporting blade 62 in such a state that a first open end 112 is open. Blood entered from an inlet hole 56 into the soft bag 60 moves downward and exits from a fine porous screen 66. Owing to porosity of the fine porous screen 66, residual gaseous foams are mostly removed. Furthermore, by arranging a blade 62 in the reservoir 44 and limiting inflation of the soft bag 60, turbulence of blood exited from the fine porous screen 66 is restricted. The reservoir 44 is equipped with a porous element 120 which covers partly a silicone defoamer. The reservoir 44 is positioned in order that two layers 122, 124 of a porous membrane 120 cover a releasing slot 114 inside of the bag 60 and that one layer 126 covers the slot outside of the bag. Thus, a part of the porous element 120 is accommodated at above a maximal blood level in the soft bag 60. Blood exited from the releasing slot 114 flows downward along an inside of a housing 132 of the reservoir, so that excess mixing of blood and air can be avoided.
