PRODUCTION OF RETROVIRUS CORE STRUCTURE AND PARTICLE PRODUCED THEREWITH

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject structure for safe antiretrovirus vaccines, etc., by infecting a cell with a vaccinia virus having gag gene and pol gene of a retrovirus without containing env gene of the retrovirus and then culturing the resultant cell. CONSTITUTION:A cell is infected with a vaccinia virus having gag gene and pol gene of a virus belonging to a retrovirus integrated thereinto without containing env gene of the virus belonging to the retrovirus or the same cell is infected with a vaccinia virus having the gag gene of the virus belonging to the retrovirus integrated thereinto without containing the env gene of the virus belonging to the retrovirus and a vaccinia virus having the pol gene of the virus belonging to the retrovirus integrated thereinto without containing the env gene of a virus belonging to the retrovirus. The resultant cell is then cultured to afford a retrovirus core structure without containing env protein.
