METHOD FOR GENERATING MUSICAL SOUND PARAMETER

PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a value other than musical parameter values previously stored in a memory and to improve expression by allowing a neural network to correspondingly learn an input pattern and the musical parameter pattern of an expected output. CONSTITUTION:The electronic instrument is an electronic keyboard instrument having a playing keyboard 16 and can generate the musical sounds of waveforms formed by the neural network. The neural network is formed as software by a CPU 10 and snaps weight between respective neurons is stored in a memory. The neural network is a hierarchical neural network and is constituted of an input layer, an intermediate layer and an output layer each of which consisting of plural neurons. The input layer consists of 5 neurons I1 to I5 and is enabled to accept five-dimensional vectors (input patterns). A musical waveform can be generated by time-sequentially plotting the output values O1 to On of respective neurons.
