<p>Cargo handling apparatus (1) of a cargo handling vehicle (V) for non-destructive handling of cargo items (I). The apparatus (1) includes a receiving station (2) for receiving cargo items (I) to be handled and a loading station (3) remote from the receiving station (2) and at which the cargo itmes (I) are deposited into a cargo container (C) of vehicle (V). Conveying means (7) operates to non-destructively move the cargo items (I) from the receiving station (2) to the loading station (3) so that the cargo items (I) are deposited in the cargo container (C). Press means (43) is operable to compact the cargo items (I) received in the container (C).</p> |
