<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate fine adjustment and error correction for ambient temperature and to grasp the battery capacity accurately by producing a charge clock signal and a discharge clock signal and monitoring the battery capacity according to the count of a counter. CONSTITUTION:A detecting circuit 12 monitors the count of an up/down counter 9, and produces a charge start signal when the count of the counter 9 drops below a predetermined value. When the count of the up/down counter 9 is higher than the predetermined value, a battery 4 is charged. Upon occurrence of power interruption, the battery 4 is connected with a load circuit 2 and the load is driven. A control circuit 13 reads out the count of the counter 9 and determines the residual capacity of the battery 4. When the battery 4 is discharged and the battery voltage drops, voltage supply to the load circuit 2 is interrupted. By such arrangement, fine adjustment of the battery and correction for temperature variation are not required and the battery capacity can be grasped accurately.</p> |
