The changing device has a holder (9) on which location parts projecting up from a tool-spindle carrier (5) can be hung. The holder (9) is a gripper hand which has a vertical axis (29), is designed as a rotary body and is arranged at the free end of a pivotable gripper arm (10) designed as a single-armed lever. The gripper hand has fixed gripping strips (25, 26) onto which the location parts (7, 8) can be placed for the suspended mounting of the tool-spindle carriers (5). The gripping strips can be inserted between the location parts (7, 8). The changing device is of compact design and requires only a little space for the changing operation. As a result of the design of the holder (9) as a rotary body, only small masses need to be moved during the changing operation.
