PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compounds useful as an intermediate for medicines, agricultural chemicals, etc., in high yield under mild reactional conditions by reacting hydrosilanes with a hydroxyl-containing compound using an alkali metal compound as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Hydrosilanes expressed by formula I (R<1>-R<3> represent H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl or organosilicon group) are reacted with a hydroxyl-containing compound by using an alkali metal compound expressed by formula II (M represents alkali metal; A represents boron or aluminum; R<4> alkyl or aryl; (n) and (m) are 0-4, (n+m)=4) [example; LiBH4, LiAlH4 or LiBH3 (OCH3)] as a catalyst to afford the objective compounds. |
