A silver halide photographic material containing at least one of the dyes represented by the general formula (I) and containing a coupler represented by the general formula (II) in a blue-sensitive layer: <IMAGE> (I) wherein R1 and R2 each represents -COOR5 or <IMAGE> R3 and R4 each represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, R5 and R6 each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group, R5 and R6 may be bonded to form a 5- or 6-membered ring, Q1 and Q2 each represents an aryl group, X1 and X2 each represents a single bond or bivalent linking group, Y1 and Y2 each represents a sulfo group or a carboxyl group, L1, L2 and L3 each represents a methine group, m1 and m2 each represents 1 or 2, n represents 0, 1 or 2, p1 and p2 each represents 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4 and s1 and s2 each represents 1 or 2; <IMAGE> (II) wherein R8 represents a substituted or unsubstituted N-phenylcarbamoyl group, Y3 represents a group bonded through an oxygen atom or a nitrogen atom and capable of being released by coupling reaction with an oxidation product of a developing agent. The color photographic material shows excellent sensitivity, developability and sharpness.
