PURPOSE: To easily produce a color changing device and to increase the range of the optical change by forming a metal layer which develops colors by interference and absorption of light when the layer is directly and tightly in contact with an optically thin film comprising a light-transmitting material, and forming an aluminum oxide by anodic treatment to be directly and tightly in contact with the color developable metal. CONSTITUTION: A color developing metal thin layer 11 is formed by a proper coating method on a metal foil 10 such as aluminum. An aluminium thin film 12 is formed on the obtd. structure by preferably vacuum sputtering. The thickness of the aluminum film 12 is controlled so that the film develops a color when it is anodically treated. The obtd. structure is subjected to porous anodic treatment in the presence of fluoride ion so that the aluminum coating film 12 is changed into a porous anodically oxidized film 13. Then an adhesive coating layer 14 comprising a flexible transparent or translucent material is applied on the laminated body. Thereby, the color changing device can be produced at a low cost and a desired color in a certain range can be realized. |
