This installation is of the type comprising a cable (2) travelling inside the loading station and extending as far as an unloading station adjacent to the place of treatment and/or packaging, and suspension members (4) having an upper end (4a) for hooking on the cable (2) and their unhooking from the cable by simple raising, and a lower hook (4b) intended to receive the hooking member of a load (3). At the unloading station, provision is made for means (8a) for successively raising each suspension member (4) which arrives in the vicinity of the unloading station and for disengaging it from the cable (2) without disconnecting it therefrom, means (8, 11, 12) for supporting and entraining, as far as the unloading station (17a), each suspension member (4) disengaged from the cable (2), means for detecting each loaded suspension member (4) at the unloading station (17a), a clip (15) carried by a horizontal arm (16) mounted pivotably about a vertical axis (17) between two extreme positions, manoeuvring means (18) being associated with this clip (15) for controlling its closure on the hooking member (25, 26) of a load (3), when this suspension member (4) is at the unloading station (17a) and when the support arm (16) of the clip (15) is in its extreme unloading position, and its opening, after its pivoting into the other extreme position (16), means for detecting the extreme position occupied by the arm (16) supporting the clip (15), means (22, 23, 24) capable of raising the pivoting arm (16) when the clip (15) is closed on the hooking member (25, 26) of a load (3), and means (19) capable of pivoting the arm (16) supporting the clip (15) from its extreme unloading position (3) into its other extreme position. <IMAGE>
