Device allowing entirely automatic management of the charging of accumulator batteries; more particularly intended for modern batteries for starting vehicles which are used intermittently. Entirely electronic, consisting of an integrated circuit combining the functions of a double comparator and of a bistable latch, of an optical coupler ensuring isolation and of a triac driven in forward conduction on each phase, This appliance, called "CHARGEOSTAT", is to be interposed between a 220 volt socket and the line supplying the charger; it acts on the latter like a simple switch. <IMAGE>
