摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain high quality by selecting a weighting filter whose characteristics are close to those of a composition filter and performing vector quantization by using a weighted residue signal obtained by inputting the predictive residue signal to the filter and weighed code books provided corresponding to plural weighting filters. CONSTITUTION:The predictive residue signal of an input signal is weighted by using a weighting filter selected among plural present weighting filters 4 by the matching with the composition filter determined by the predictive analysis of the input signal, thereby generating the weighted residue signal. A weighted code book selected corresponding to the weighting filter 4 selected by a weighted residue signal generation part 4 is selected from a weighted code book part 5 stored with plural weighted code books weighted by the weighting filters 4. Then the selected weighted code book and weighted residue signal are used to obtain the vector quantization output of the predictive residue signal. Consequently, the vector quantization of good quality is performed.
