PURPOSE:To prevent unexpected dashing of a vehicle at the time of starting an engine, by designing an automatic starting and stopping apparatus such that the engine can never be started even by pushing a release button not insofar as the clutch is ON and the transmission is in its neutral position. CONSTITUTION:When parking brake is applied, a signal S1 becomes H and a fuel stop signal S15 is rendered H via a one-shot multivibrator MV1 and an FF circuit 9, whereby an engine is stopped. Subsequently, when a release button is pushed to release the parking brake, a signal S3 becomes H. Further, if an AND circuit 11 is completed by a clutch signal S16 that becomes H when an OR circuit 8 is OFF and a transmission signal S17 that becomes H when a transmission is in its N-position, the FF circuit 9 is reset by a signal S8 supplied via a one-shot multivibrator MV3 so as to enable to supply fuel and an FF circuit 10 is set for rendering a starter driving signal H, whereby the engine is started. Thus, since starting of the engine is prohibited not insofar as the clutch is ON or the transmission is in its N-position, unexpected uncontrolled dashing of a vehicle can be prevented at the time of starting the engine. |
