发明名称 METHOD OF LASER RODS TREATMENT
摘要 The solution concerns method of surface finishing of laser rods made of yttrium-aluminium garnet activated by neodymium ions and is remarkable because of the fact that the cylindrical surface of the rod is finished by grinding with grit size from 2 to 100 micrometers, then it is illuminated by such amount of light that in band of 300 to 1000 nanometres corresponds to at least 20,000 J for 1cm<2> of longitudinal cross section of the rod and finally it is cauterized by phosphoric acid (H3PO4), or respectively by a mixture of 70 to 98 percent phosphoric acid (H3PO4) and of 2 to 30 percent of nitric acid (HNO3) for a period of 3 to 30 minutes at a temperature of 110 to 250 degrees C. By this processing the optical properties of the surface are stabilised and therefore also the resulting reflectivity of the cylindrical surface. The laser rods finished in this manner do not change by means of further illumination in the laser hollow their absorption properties, not even after further finishing, or fine roughening. Therefore stable output parameters of laser rods are achieved, which is important mainly in serially produced laser machines.
