PURPOSE:To elevate sliding strength, by providing a hydrolysate of alkoxysilane, or a surface treatment layer consisting of a hydrolysate or a condensate of alkoxysilane and fluorinated silane on a mgnetic recording film, and providing a tetrafluoroethylene low polymer on said surface treatment layer. CONSTITUTION:A film of fluorinated silane is formed on a magnetic recording film by hydrolysate of alkoxysilane or its condensate, or a mixing film of said 2 kinds of silanes is formed as a surface treatment layer. Subsequently, on the surface treatment layer. Subsequently, on the surface treatment layer, a low polymer layer of tetrafluoroethylene whose degree of polemerization is about 10-800 is formed, and a magnetic recording medium which is excellent in abrasion resistance, durability of a lubricating effect, and large in its sliding strength against sliding with a magnetic head, etc. is obtained. Also, on the tetrafluoroethylene low polymer layer, a perfluoroalkyl polyether layer is provided. In this way, the sliding strength is further elevated. |
