A solid wire for gas shielded arc welding having improved feedability of the welding wire during welding and excellent arc stability accordingly by optimally controlling the welding wire together with tensile strength of the welding wire using a hardening factor capable of accurately controlling work-hardening ratio of a welding wire is provided. A solid wire for gas shielded arc welding having excellent feedability and arc stability is characterized in that a hardening factor of a final wire product defined by a mathematical expression, a hardening factor=(maximum tensile strength-yield strength)/yield strength, is in a range of 0.25 to 0.55, wherein the yield strength is a 0.05% offset yield strength. The wire has a composition comprising 0.03 to 0.10% of C, 0.45 to 1.05% of Si, 0.90 to 1.90% of Mn, 0.030% or less of P, 0.030% or less of S and the balance of Fe and other impurities based on the total wire weight. The hardening factor of the solid wire for gas shielded arc welding is controlled by a combination of at least one roller selected from bending rollers and inclined correction rollers, and longitudinal/lateral correction rollers.
