PURPOSE:To set the latent image potential at a development position to a specific value by providing a means which corrects a latent image potential according to measured darkness attenuation. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with a measuring means 9 which measures the darkness attenuation of a latent image potential between a detection position and the development position by using a detecting means 8 and correcting means 3 and 10 which correct the latent image potential by using the measured darkness attenuation. Therefore, the darkness attenuation of the latent image potential between the detection position and development position is measured by using the detecting means 8 to obtain dark attenuation in a state wherein an image carrier 1 is mounted on the device and the latent image potential which is corrected according to the darkness attenuation is set matching the specific value at the development position by using a lamp 3 for document exposure, a main electrostatic charger 10, etc., as a correcting means. |
