<p>PURPOSE:To assure the directional property of a title device inexpensively and securely by forming an optical shielding layer on a device body surface including a protruded portion, and thereafter allowing said optical shielding layer to function as an optical transparent part by cutting away said protruded portion from said body such that said optical shielding layer permits transmission of a light flux only across its cut surface. CONSTITUTION:There is previously provided formed integrally a protruded part 11 on the surface of a body part 1a comprising an optically transparent material in a photodetector device 1 at a portion of the same corresponding to an optically transparent part 10 which transmits a light flux from a light emitting device. A part of the protruded part 11 coupled to the body part 1a is shaped such that light from the light emitting device can be incident on that part when both coupled parts are cut away in a predetermined state. Light blocking mask paint and the like are applied on the entire surface of the body part 1a including the protruded part 11. Further, the protruded part 11 is cut down at its predetermined position, a cut surface being made the optical transparent part 10 for transmission of the light flux. Thus, a photodetector device with secure directivity can be yielded inexpensively.</p> |
