A method of manufacturing a thermostatic control element involves applying a temp. dependent activation element coaxially to the control element (10) housing (11) to form a shape locking fit involving projections (23) engaging corresp. surfaces (24). At least the region of housing or activation element wall forming the projections is made of a material which is deformable under the effects of temp. and force. The region is heated to the deformation temp. to apply the activation element to the housing. USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g. for simple, reliable and economical thermostatically operated valve or switching device manufacture ensuring a reliable connection.
