<p>A time-of-flight mass-spectrometer comprises, mounted consecutively and coaxially in a vacuum chamber (1), a target (2), a drift space (3) and a reflector (4). A detector (8) is located behind the target (2) along the path of the reflected ion flux. Between the target (2) and the detector (8) is located a protecting sublayer (9) made of a conducting material and preventing the flux of multi-charged ions from falling on the detector (8). The mass-spectrometer is preferably intended for analyzing the mass and isotope composition of substances.</p> |
