PURPOSE: To obtain an absorbent mixture comprising the first particles consisting of a polymerized, crosslinked material and the second particles consisting of this material and a fiber phase, and having excellent sucking and absorbing properties. CONSTITUTION: This absorbent mixture comprises the first particles consisting of a polymerized, crosslinked material and the second particles, and the mixture has excellent absorbing property. The first particles are obtained by dispersing a dispersion, which is prepared by adding a polymerizable, cross-linkable material, for example, sodium, potassium or ammonium acrylate into a liquid carrier (e.g. water), within a fiber web consisting of, for example, rayon, cellulose ester protein, polyamide or the like, subsequently preferably irradiating the fiber web with electron beams to polymerize or crosslink the polymerizable, cross-linkable material and grinding the obtained composite web. The second particles comprise fiber phases of the fiber web and the polymerized, crosslinked material bound on the fiber web. The first particles and the second particles are closely in contact with the swelling surfaces of other composite bodies, and the absorbent mixture can produce an absorbing product such as a diaper having an absorbing layer and little in leaking. |
