PURPOSE:To automatically recover the failure of a switch when a home position switch(HPSW) is not recovered as it is in a contact condition by moving a carriage which carries a recording head to the HPSW again and letting the carriage collide with the HPSW again. CONSTITUTION:A carriage moves in a returning direction by a one - two phase excitation at a pulse width (t0). After an HPSW signal is detected and the HPSW is held for a holding time (t1), the carriage moves by (n1) steps at the pulse width (t0) in a scanning direction and a printing starting position (software home position, SHP) is determined. The HPSW returns to as original position by the movement of the carriage in the scanning direction. In this case, whether the HPSW is ON or OFF is judged and, in case of ON, the carriage is moved in the returning direction until the carriage collides with the HPSW again. |
