PURPOSE:To allow the easy focusing of respective light rays to corresponding recording layers by arranging the recording layers of the optical recording medium having plural kinds of the recording layers which are different in the absorption wavelengths of the light rays in such a manner that the absorption wavelengths increase sequentially from the light incident side. CONSTITUTION:The recording layers consisting of n layers are provided on a transparent substrate 1 and the respective recording layers K1 to Kn are constituted of different kinds of photochromic materials. The absorption wavelengths lambda1, lambda2 to lambdan of the respective recording layers K1 to Kn increase and are lambda1 <lambda2< to <lambdan as the recording layers part from the substrate 1. The thicknesses of the respective recording layers K1 to Kn are so set that the distances between the recording layers K1 to Kn-1 and the recording layer Kn coincide with the chromatic aberrations of the wavelength lambdan of the wavelengths lambda1 to lambdan with the light of the wavelength lambdan. The light rays of the lambda1 to lambdan can be thereby converged respectively onto the recording layers K1 to Knin the state of the focusing lens existing in the position where the the light of the wavelength lambdan is converged onto the recording layer Kn. The light rays corresponding to the absorption wavelength lambda1 to LAMBDAn in the recording layers K1 to Kn are converged as the light rays for recording and reproducing to the respective layers in such a manner. |
