PURPOSE: To obtain a synthetic polymer consisting of a film-forming polysuccinimide-based reaction product, suitable for coating foods and medicine- shaped products and controllable in solubility under conditions of its application. CONSTITUTION: This synthetic polymer is a polysuccinimide-based reaction product having structural unit of formula I [A is H, or a 1-8C alkyl or alkylene which may be substituted with alicyclic group, aromatic group, R-O, R1 -C(=O)-O (R and R1 are each H, an alkyl, etc.), etc.; B is H or the alkyl or alkylene defined in A; (a) is 0.2-1; D is H, NH4 or a group of formula II; (b) is 0.8], pref. a reaction product where 30-100% of the succinimide unit has been reacted into aspartic acid amide unit. The reaction product is pref. formed by reaction between succinimide, (di)isopropanolamine, 3-ethoxypropanolamine or isononyloxypropylamine. |
