Mechanical energy store for seat belt mechanism - makes use of sensor-actuated ceramic bursting disc

The mechanism is for the release of a mechanical energy store. A ceramic bursting disc (12) is provided to secure the energy store (10), which consists of prestressed spring. A sensor (16) causes the impact rod (14) to break the disc when there is a need for the energy of the spring to be released. USE/ADVANTAGE - Release mechanism for tightening a vehicle seat belt which makes the energy of the spring immediately available in a safe and reliable way.
