PURPOSE:To enable to efficiently prepare useful pyrimine by culturing a new pyrimine-producing bacterium sp.K-1 strain belonging to the Pseudomonas genus having specific mycological properties in a state mixed with a plant. CONSTITUTION:A Pseudomonas sp.K-1 strain (FERM BP-2932) having specific mycological properties such as: a denitrification reaction: negative; D-arabinose: positive and L-lysine: positive as carbon sources; the production of the pyrimine: >=400ug/ml on the culture and the production of the pyrimine is begun within 8 days from the start of the culture; is inoculated on a LS medium using components added to a conventional medium and subsequently cultured under an aerobic condition by a rotating and shaking culture method, etc., in a mixed state together with a Liliacede plant such as Welsh onion. The pyrimine produced in the medium is separated and purified by conventional methods. The simple addition of an iron salt to the produced pyrimine in an aqueous solution permits to readily provide a red natural dyestuff, ferropyrimine. |
