PURPOSE: To prepare a mass of cellular tissue easily by depositing a sample and a hardenable gel material in an enclosure defined by a supporting web and treating the gel material and the confined sample just like a tissue sample thereby bringing out an inclusive button. CONSTITUTION: A sample and a hardenable gel material are deposited in an enclosure 1 defined by a supporting web, the sample is confined by hardening the gel material and then the gel material and the sample are treated just like a tissue sample thus bringing an inclusive gel button 20. The sample is deposited through centrifugal action preferably employing an algin gel material and hardened through contact with a hardening agent, e.g. calcium chloride.
