PRODUCTION OF CERAMIC SUBSTRATE FOR PLASMA DISPLAY

PURPOSE:To obtain a perforated ceramic substrate having uniform size and pitch of perforation by producing a ceramic green sheet, boring the sheet to form a lattice-like perforated article, removing the outer frame of the article or of a laminate of the articles and calcining the product. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic slip produced by mixing raw ceramic powder and a forming assistant is formed in the form of a plate and dried to obtain a ceramic green sheet 11. The ceramic green sheet 11 is perforated (e.g. by using a mold press 13) to open a number of holes 18 having uniform size and arranged in lateral and longitudinal directions. The outer frame part 23 of the obtained lattice-like perforated article 12 or of a laminate 22 produced by laminating a plurality of the articles is removed and the product is calcined to obtain the objective ceramic substrate 24.
