PURPOSE: To form a collar having an end surface extending in the direction right-angled to the pipe longitudinal axis line of a composite by winding a projected part around the composite and pressing clamping sleeves to both flanks of the projected part one by one and filling the spaces between the mutual end surfaces of both clamping sleeves with a fiber winding. CONSTITUTION: A projected part 3 having flank parts 3a, 3b and comprising a resin impregnated fiber is wound around a fiber composite pipe 2 held to a wet state along the range to be reinforced of the composite pipe 2. When a fiber fabric strip material 3C is together involved in the projected part 3, the bending strength of a formed collar is enhanced. Subsequently, clamping sleeves 4, 5 are respectively pressed to the flanks 3a, 3b one by one and the annular space generated between both end surfaces 4c, 5c of the sleeves 4, 5 is filled with a fiber winding 6 comprising a synthetic resin impregnated fiber. The sleeves 4, 5 are slackened after the fiber windings 2, 3, 6 are gelled and cured to be detached from a winding mandrel 1. The collar 7 thus formed is organically bonded to the pipe 2. |
