PURPOSE:To make applicable for packaging of a short-sized article or small article, etc., by a method wherein the present belt conveyor is constituted in such a manner that the length of the carrying surface is changed so that the belt carrying surface almost completely fills a gap when a heater on the lower side for a heating welding sealing device has sunk. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower heaters H1, H2 give a box motion, end a belt conveyor is divided into A and B on the upstream side and the downstream side, and belt roll groups 2 and 3, on which the conveyor belts 4, 5 are stretched, are equipped. A movable table 1, which is provided extending along the side edges of the conveyors on the upstream side and the downstream side, performs a horizontal motion which is equivalent to the horizontal component of a box motion of the heaters H1, H2. When the heaters H1, H2 perform a box motion, excepting at the times of lateral sealing and cutting, right after the heater H2 on the lower side has sunk, at least one of the belt rolls, which approach the upstream side and the downstream side of the heater, closes the top of the heater on the lower side, and thus the belt carrying surface almost completely fills the gap while changing the length of the carrying surface. |
