PURPOSE:To obtain appropriate exposure even when a range-finding area is adjusted on any part of a person being a main object by making a spot photometric area including the range-finding area an elliptical area whose upper part is cut off, that is, an area approximate to the shape of a face. CONSTITUTION:The elliptical spot photometric area 23 whose upper part with respect to a finder visual field in a horizontal position is cut off is provided so as to be superposed on the range-finding area 24 in the center part of a pole. The shape is not necessarily elliptical and it is necessary that the area in a down direction is larger than that in an up direction from the center of the range-finding area 24. Therefore, the appropriate exposure is obtained because the spot photometric area 23 is all occupied by the main object at the time of focusing on a breast 25b and performing photometry. At the time of focusing on a head 25a, the exposure becomes appropriate without being influenced by a bright background because the area 23 extends over neither the main object nor the background. Thus, the photometry to the person being the main object is performed even at the time of focusing on either the breast or the face of the person. |
