PURPOSE:To axially displace an inner column as rotation of the inner column is blocked by a method wherein the part, protruded from the inner side of a lock member, of a protrusion part protruded from the inner end part of a lock screw is engaged with an oblong hole formed in the inner column. CONSTITUTION:In a telescopic steering column 4 formed with outer and inner columns 2 and 3 combined together in a telescopic manner, a lock bracket 10 is secured on the outer peripheral surface of the outer column 2, and a nut piece 14 is secured to the central part of a protrusion plate part 11. A lock member 16 is inwardly and outwardly displaceably engaged with an opening 15 formed in the side of the outer column 2, and the end surface of a lock screw 18 threadedly joined with a nut valve 14 is brought into contact with a lock member 16. In this case, a through-hole 23 is formed in the central part of the lock member 16, and a protrusion part 24 protruded from the inner end of the lock screw 18 is inserted therein. An oblong hole 21 is formed in the side of the inner column 3 and the tip part of the protrusion part 24 is engaged therewith. |
