摘要 According to CCITT recommendation I.121 for a broadband ISDN transmission network, an asynchronous time-division multiplex method (ATD) is provided. In this method, the signal is transmitted in cells of equal length and consisting of cell header and information field. Cells lost during the transmission can be detected by means of continuous numbering of the cells and corrected by means of a forward error correction (FEC) in connection with bit interleaving. The novel method is intended to prevent the high storage requirement in this method and the result of great time delay. Even-numbered samples are transmitted in cells 2n-1 and odd-numbered samples are transmitted in cells 2n. When a cell is missing, the missing samples can be reconstructed from the adjacent samples at the receiving end by means of an error masking technique. The method can be applied in the case of originally analog signals such as television signals, higher quality audio signals or video signals. <IMAGE>
